Propagate

The work draws on techniques and processes including computer modelling, water-jet cutting and traditional lost-wax casting.  After casting, the work has been painstakingly ground and the front and back curved faces brought to a high polish.

The form touches on themes of the protective supportive qualities offered by structure; a framework for colonisation and incubation.

The junction between surfaces; polish and satin finish creates a dynamic quality. The polished faces take on a strong linear quality emphasising the pattern.
